Saturday January 27, 2024
7:30 a.m. Departure of the parade
From the Château du Clos de Vougeot, the procession crosses the villages of Chambolle-Musigny then Morey-Saint-Denis. It is made up of the banners and Patron Saints of the 95 wine-growing societies, accompanied by three fanfares: Gevrey-Chambertin/Nuits-Saint-Georges Fanfare, Demigny/Meursault Fanfare, Harmonie of Châtillon and Tradi'Défi, an ensemble of traditional songs and music. As is customary, this procession is closed by les Chevaliers du Tastevin.
8:00 a.m. Solemn ceremony
Place de la Mairie de Chambolle-Musigny, the Officials pay tribute to our veterans.
10:00 a.m. Religious ceremonies
Two religious services are held simultaneously. They are chaired by Archbishop Monseigneur Hérouard at the Church of the Nativity in Morey-Saint-Denis and by the Vicar General Father Paul Houdard at the Church of Sainte-Barbe-et-Saint-Sébastien in Chambolle Musigny. They are broadcast via giant screens in the squares of the two villages
For this occasion two choirs were formed of around 35 people each. They accompany the masses with carefully chosen and extensively rehearsed songs. The churches have become beautiful: that of Chambolle-Musigny has acquired in recent years a magnificent altar in Comblanchien stone and that of Morey-Saint-Denis has found, thanks to restoration work just completed, the the former brilliance of its Cistercian choir.
During the ceremonies, the Saints are visible at Place de l’église in Chambolle-Musigny and Place Saint-Vincent in Morey-Saint-Denis.
12:00 p.m. Inductions
On Place Saint-Vincent in Morey-Saint-Denis, the Knights of Tastevin induct our elders.
For everyone's safety and the smooth running of the parade and the event, visitors may be screened.
